FC Lugano is more than just a Swiss Football League (SFL) soccer club. We see ourselves as a socially responsible organization. Sustainability is a key part of our long-term strategy, covering the environmental, social, and economic aspects of life at the club. As one of Ticino’s leading soccer clubs, FC Lugano has a special responsibility toward its region, its fans, and its partners.
Soccer is more than just a game. It has the power to bring people together, to spread important social values, and to spark positive change. FC Lugano is committed to harnessing this potential to actively promote environmental protection, social justice, and responsible management.
We aim to become a sustainability leader among Swiss clubs in the near future. To achieve this goal, we’ve already devised and launched a number of initiatives, especially regarding the next construction stages of our new stadium (AIL Arena), scheduled for completion in late fall 2025.
In addition to meeting the goals set by the SFL and UEFA, FC Lugano is committed to championing further initiatives and activities in support of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals outlined in the 2030 Agenda. Transparent and responsible governance fosters trust and ensures stability, reinforcing soccer’s role not just as entertainment, but as a force for inspiring and uplifting the community.
