The past is not just memory: it is identity, belonging, roots. In a season that marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new journey, FC Lugano has decided to pay tribute to its history with a special jersey. The new home uniform for the 2025/26 season is a bridge between 1951 and today, between the first game at Cornaredo and the last one this stadium will host.
Inspired by the jersey worn in the 1951/52 season - the first one played in Cornaredo's municipal stadium - the new version faithfully echoes the colors and lines of that era: the dominant black, strong and identifying, is framed by elegant white inserts on the shoulders and a polo collar finished with a button, a direct reference to the "retro" design revisited in a modern key.
The jersey is made of Future fabric, the innovative material developed by Erreà, designed to ensure high performance and sustainability. A concrete choice towards a more responsible future, with the goal set by Erreà to reduce the carbon footprint per unit produced by 30% and increase the use of sustainable materials by 20% by 2030.
The 2025/26 home jersey also marks the beginning of the new partnership agreement with Lugano's Plan ₿, the HCL club's Leading Partner from July 1, 2025 and for four seasons, sanctioned to strengthen a fruitful partnership that has been successfully established for some time and sealed by the presence of Lugano's Plan ₿ on the chest of the official jerseys for all FC Lugano matches in all competitions.
In such a special season, along which Cornaredo will host FC Lugano for the last time, wearing this jersey means paying tribute to those who have gone before us, the players of yesterday and the fans of all time. It means saying a grateful goodbye to the home that has welcomed us for three quarters of a century. And, above all, it means carrying with us the spirit of a club that looks forward with passion, determination and respect for its history.
